what is neon...

Neon is a gas it as discovered in 1898 by two scientist's the 1st one was Sir William Ramsay and the 2nd one was Morris W. Travers. neon is part of the noble gas family in the periotic table of the elements . neon gas burns a brilliant redish color when excited electricly and in 1910 a scientist named George Claude developed neon that was captured in a tube and was sold everywhere and then the 1st biggest neon sign ever was created to avertize a car dealership in LA., neon has contributed to the basic understanding of atoms. As seen in the picture in the left upper corner: the symbol is: Ne the element # is: 10 then the atomic mass is: 20. 180 the name is NEON. neon is the second lightest of the noble gases. And neon is my favorite because of the neon lights in New York, Las Vegas and London. It is the 5th most abundent chemical in the whole universe!
